I usually time block important projects or papers for class. I set an alarm on my phone for a specific time and tell myself that it needs to be done in that timeframe; for example, 12 pm start on paper, and by 4 pm, if I'm not done then I switch to a different task and come back to it later. This has helped me better understand my pace and flow of work (I know I can type a 3-5 page pager in about 3 hours). But I still have days where I write many things down for the to-do list and procrastinate on them. Time blocking has definitely helped me to avoid this bad habit.

I'm such a fan of timeblocking. I set a timer of my computer and make sure I do nothing else but one task ti the beeper goes off (usually 30 mins). I can quickly go on Twitter for gist for like 10 mins or something else. I listed to Cal's interview on NPR and that's how I got into the concept of deep work.

Just started using the screen time thingy 2 days ago and it works!!!! The only thing that’s active during my off screen time is my mails and podcasts.

It also helped me stop the habit of scrolling through my mobile phone first thing in the morning.
