Time blocking is the truth! Can't remember what podcast I learned about it from but it's made all the difference. Something else I've found super useful is Screen Time on iPhone for my most distracting apps and I have my husband put in a password so it has to be really critical for me to have to ask him to unlock it. It's key to have someone petty put in the password so that pride will not let you go and meet them to beg for extra screen time lol

I usually time block important projects or papers for class. I set an alarm on my phone for a specific time and tell myself that it needs to be done in that timeframe; for example, 12 pm start on paper, and by 4 pm, if I'm not done then I switch to a different task and come back to it later. This has helped me better understand my pace and flow of work (I know I can type a 3-5 page pager in about 3 hours). But I still have days where I write many things down for the to-do list and procrastinate on them. Time blocking has definitely helped me to avoid this bad habit.

I'm such a fan of timeblocking. I set a timer of my computer and make sure I do nothing else but one task ti the beeper goes off (usually 30 mins). I can quickly go on Twitter for gist for like 10 mins or something else. I listed to Cal's interview on NPR and that's how I got into the concept of deep work.
