A few products I’ve loved and need to put you on
This Kitchen Aid Food Chopper (Amazon)
For health and wallet reasons, I think many of us are trying to cook more and order in less. It’s my belief that you are 95.6% more likely to cook if you have prechopped onions, garlic and ginger in your fridge. In many countries, you can buy these items prechopped but doing that is expensive over time. Instead, get a food chopper. Once a week chop up onions, garlic and ginger. Tupperware, fridge, peace. The Sticky Pudding at The Ona Restaurant in Lagos
The prices at this restaurant are …. international 😭. N10,000 for a pudding. However, this pudding is giving what it needs to give. Ugh and the sauce. It must have crème fraîche or sour creme in it and it just balances out the sweetness of the cake perfectly. I struggle to find a dessert in Lagos that satisfies my sweet tooth but also satiates me. Cupcakes and cookies, for example, satisfy my sweet tooth but I can never have just 1. There’s something about the creaminess plus the sweetness of this dessert that makes 1 portion just right. This habit tracker (Amazon or print this free version out)
Good habits are the foundation to an excellent life and monitoring your habits is one of the best ways to keep you on track. I’m an old school babe so keeping a habit tracker on my wall instead of my phone suits me. I have mine posted on my wardrobe door in a place that I can’t help but see every day. I have a pen holder and a pen next to it so it’s easy to tick off on the daily and I use this large hook to hang it up. If you print out the free version, you can stick them up using masking tape or blue tak. These trackers really work for me. I came back to Lagos for a few weeks after spending a few months in California. Unfortunately, I forgot to come with my habit tracker and whew did I fall off. After weeks of feeling meh, I finally printed out a new habit tracker and filled it out with a few habits that help me thrive. The very next day, I was already back in my groove and rhythm.
The free version is great btw. The only benefit of the paid one is the alternatively shaded rows. That design makes it harder to tick off the wrong row especially in the latter half of the month.
PS: If you know someone who’s struggling to start a new habit, share this with them!
